Cacoo offers various types of icons and shapes, and you can quickly locate them from the Shapes menu and library.

1.1 Switch to other basic shapes
Add basic shapes
You can quickly access all the basic shapes (e.g., circle, square, triangle, etc.) from the tool menu. To select and add a basic shape:
- Click on the basic shapes button from the tool menu.
- Basic shapes selection menu will prompt. Locate the shape that you want to add and drag and drop it onto the sheet.
Tip: You can further edit the shapes. Just select the shape and edit them using the editor menu. You can learn more about the editing functions at the Edit Shape/Object support articles. |
Switch to other basic shapes
After adding a basic shape on the sheet, you can easily switch it to another basic shape while keeping its style. To switch the basic shape:
- Select the added basic shape you want to switch and click Switch shape from the editor menu.
- A basic shape menu selection will prompt, select the shape that you wish to switch to.
Note: When you switch the basic shape to the braces { }, the shape’s color and line style will be reset to the default settings. |
More icons and shapes
Besides basic shapes, you can locate more icons and specific shapes such as Flowcharts, AWS, Kubernetes, etc., in the Shapes Llibrary.
Add more icons and shapes
You can add more icons and shapes from the Shapes Library.
- Select “...” on the tool menu, and a Shapes Library panel will prompt at the left-hand side.
- On the Shapes Library panel, you can view the different icon/shape categories. Click on a specific category, locate the icon/shape you wish to add, and drag and drop the icon/shape on the sheet.

Add custom shapes
If custom shapes have been created, you can easily add them from the Library menu. To add them,
- Select “...” on the tool menu, and a Shapes Library panel will prompt at the left-hand side.
- On the Library panel, click on the Custom Shapes category. All the custom shapes categories will be displayed.
- Search or filter the shapes via the category drop-down menu, and drag and drop the custom shape onto the sheet.
Note: The Custom Shapes category will display all the custom shapes that all members have created within the organization and shared with you via a shared folder. |
